Miriam Aune | Blaine Campus
Middle School Language Arts and Enrichment Program | maune@availacademy.org

Mrs. Aune is Challenge Program Coordinator, providing enrichment opportunities for students in grades K-5 at the Blaine campus. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan, with minors in music and French.

Mr. Paul Clemens teaches 9th-12th grade mathematics at Avail Academy High School. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.

Susan Koppendrayer | Edina Campus

Mrs. Susan Koppendrayer teaches 6th-8th grade science and Bible at Avail. She has a B.A. in education from Ohio Wesleyan University and an M.A. in education from Michigan State University. In addition, she has taken post-graduate science courses at the University of Minnesota.

 

Samantha Longley | Blaine Campus

Mrs. Longley teaches art to students in grades 6-8. She is looking forward to getting to know the middle school students in Blaine after working as a long-term sub at the Edina campus in 2014-2015. She is a 2012 graduate of the University of Northwestern-St. Paul with a studio art degree.

Mrs. Joy Myren teaches middle school math and science at Avail. She has a bachelor of science degree from Calvin College. Mrs. Myren taught grades 3-8 at Ontario Christian School in California for 21 years, and she has been teaching at Avail since 2004.

 

Scott Ross | Edina Campus

Mr. Scott Ross teaches 6th-8th grade geography and history and 6th grade Bible. He has a B.A. degree in secondary education and history from Dordt College. He also has a keyboarding technology certification and an M.A. in education from Hamline University.

 

Alex Tien | Blaine Campus

Mr. Alex Tien leads a high school advisory and teaches high school history and English, along with middle school History. He graduated from Trinity Christian College, in Palos Heights, Ill., with a degree in secondary history education and a minor in special education, then taught for one year at Lansing Christian School in Illinois before coming to Avail Academy.

Mr. Tim Van Bockel has a 6th grade homeroom class and teaches middle school language arts and Geography. He is a 2015 University of Northwestern-St. Paul graduate with double majors in elementary education and Bible, and middle school Communication, Arts, and Literature Endorsement.

 

Val Vander Top  | Blaine Campus

Mrs. Val Vander Top teaches middle school Bible and pre-algebra, as well as other electives. She studied for one year at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, and graduated from Minnesota State University-Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Mrs. Kayla Veenstra teaches 5th-8th grade Spanish at the Blaine campus. She attended Bethel University, where she received a B.A. in K-12 Spanish Education.

 

Kelsey Wieberdink  | Blaine Campus

Along with her high school advisory responsibilities, Ms. Kelsey Wieberdink teaches 6th grade math, 8th-9th geometry, 12th grade language arts, and international student literacy. She attended Belhaven University in Jackson, MS. earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a reading concentration and a math endorsement. Before coming to Avail Academy, she taught at Victory Christian Academy in Hibbing, MN. for two years.
